Account and data deletion

Delete your ChurchGather account.

This public page explains how to request permanent deletion of a ChurchGather account and how specific data can be managed directly in the app where those controls are available.

Last updated August 25, 2026

01

Request deletion by email

Email support@churchgather.app with the subject “Delete my ChurchGather account.” Include enough information to locate and verify the account.

  • Your full name
  • Your ChurchGather email address or phone number
  • The church or ministry connected to the account, when relevant
  • A clear statement that you want the ChurchGather account deleted
02

Manage specific data in the app

You can edit or delete specific information directly in ChurchGather wherever an edit or delete control is available. This does not permanently delete your entire account.

  • Use the available edit or delete control for the specific item
  • Full account deletion still requires an email request
03

Data deleted with the account

After verification and completion of the request, ChurchGather deletes or de-identifies personal data associated with the account where technically and legally applicable.

  • ChurchGather authentication account and personal profile
  • Name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and account settings
  • Notification preferences and personal device associations
  • Church follows, membership relationships, and personal role links where deletion is permitted
  • Personal spiritual goals and related activity records
  • Uploaded photos, videos, files, prayer requests, and other personal content where applicable
04

Messages and shared content

Content already shared with other people or churches may require different treatment so conversations, records, and safety investigations remain understandable.

  • Messages may remain in another participant’s conversation history where complete removal would break the conversation record
  • Church or ministry records may be retained when the church has an independent operational, safeguarding, or legal need
  • Personal identifiers will be removed or anonymized where technically and legally appropriate
  • Content that can be safely deleted without affecting other users will be removed
05

Data that may be retained

A limited amount of information may be retained when required for legal, accounting, payment, safety, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or regulatory purposes.

  • Donation, payment, refund, ticket, tax, or accounting records
  • Security, abuse-prevention, fraud-prevention, and audit records
  • Records required to respond to legal claims or lawful government requests
  • Information preserved to investigate serious safety reports or protect users
06

Processing time

Deletion requests are normally processed within 30 days after the account owner is verified. ChurchGather may contact you if more information is needed or if a legal retention requirement applies.
