01

Prohibited content and conduct

No person may use ChurchGather to create, upload, distribute, request, promote, normalize, facilitate, or conceal child sexual abuse or exploitation.

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including real, altered, generated, or simulated material
  • Sexualization of a minor or sexual content involving a minor
  • Grooming, predatory contact, or attempts to move a child into secret or unsafe communication
  • Sextortion, coercion, blackmail, or threats involving intimate material
  • Solicitation, trafficking, or commercial sexual exploitation of a child
  • Requests for sexual images, sexual conversation, or in-person sexual contact with a minor
  • Instructions, links, coded language, or communities that facilitate CSAE or CSAM
02

How to report a concern

Use ChurchGather’s in-app reporting controls on a user, message, conversation, post, resource, event, or other content. Select the child-safety or abuse reason and include the relevant context.

  • Do not download, copy, forward, or redistribute suspected CSAM
  • Preserve the link, account name, conversation, or content identifier when safe to do so
  • For a report outside the app, email support@churchgather.app with the subject “Urgent child safety report”
  • If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or law enforcement first
03

Review and enforcement

ChurchGather reviews child-safety reports and takes action appropriate to the risk, available evidence, these standards, and applicable law.

  • Remove or disable access to prohibited content
  • Restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts, church spaces, groups, or other entities involved
  • Preserve relevant records when necessary for safety, investigation, reporting, or legal compliance
  • Prevent repeat access or re-upload where reasonably possible
  • Cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities
04

Confirmed CSAM and authorities

When ChurchGather obtains actual knowledge of confirmed CSAM, it will take appropriate action, including removal and reporting in accordance with applicable law.

  • Confirmed CSAM may be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional authority
  • ChurchGather may provide preserved account and content information when legally required
  • Users should contact local law enforcement when a child is in danger or abuse may be occurring
05

Safeguarding expectations for churches and leaders

Churches, ministries, administrators, volunteers, and group leaders are responsible for using appropriate safeguarding practices in addition to ChurchGather’s platform rules.

  • Use approved adult supervision and church safeguarding procedures
  • Limit access to children’s personal information and images
  • Do not publish a child’s sensitive details without proper authorization
  • Use role and audience controls appropriate to the activity
  • Escalate suspected abuse rather than attempting an informal private resolution
06

Designated child-safety contact

The designated ChurchGather contact for Google Play notifications, safety escalation, enforcement questions, and CSAE-related concerns is support@churchgather.app.

  • The contact is responsible for receiving and escalating child-safety notices
  • The contact must be able to discuss ChurchGather’s review and enforcement procedures
  • Non-urgent general support questions should use the regular contact page
07

No retaliation and no misuse of reporting

ChurchGather prohibits retaliation against a person who reports a child-safety concern in good faith. Deliberately false, malicious, or abusive reports may result in account action.
