Your information should have a clear purpose.

This page explains, in plain language, what ChurchGather may collect, why it is used, and the choices people and churches should have.

01

Information you provide

ChurchGather may receive information you enter when you create an account, review your profile, join a church space, contact support, register for an event, or use another feature.

  • Name, email, profile image, language, and account details
  • Church, ministry, role, and membership information
  • Content you choose to create, upload, send, or share
  • Support messages and information you choose to include
02

Information created while you use the service

The service may create technical and activity records needed to operate safely and reliably.

  • Device, browser, app version, language, and general connection information
  • Sign-in, security, error, and performance records
  • Actions such as following, opening, publishing, registering, or changing settings
  • Payment status and identifiers from the payment provider, not full card details
03

Why information is used

Information should be used only for clear product, safety, support, legal, and improvement purposes.

  • Create and protect accounts
  • Show the right church content to the right audience
  • Deliver events, bulletins, resources, messages, notifications, and other requested features
  • Process secure billing or giving through approved providers
  • Prevent misuse, investigate problems, and improve the experience
04

When information may be shared

ChurchGather should not sell personal information. Information may be shared only when needed to provide the service, follow the person’s choice, protect people, or meet a legal duty.

  • With the church or ministry audience chosen for content
  • With service providers that host, secure, deliver, analyze, or process the service
  • With payment providers for billing or giving
  • When required by law or needed to protect rights and safety
05

Public, church, and private areas

Not every part of ChurchGather has the same audience. Public information can be seen more widely. Church, ministry, group, direct, and admin areas require the correct relationship and permission.

  • Always check the audience before publishing
  • Church leaders control some church content and membership decisions
  • Private messages should never appear on public pages
  • Backend rules must enforce restricted access
06

Storage, security, and retention

ChurchGather should use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No online service can promise perfect security.

  • Keep information only as long as needed for the service, safety, records, or legal duties
  • Use access controls and secure backend checks
  • Remove or anonymize information when it is no longer needed where reasonably possible
  • Report serious security concerns through the contact channel
07

Website analytics and cookies

Optional analytics are used only when you choose to allow analytics cookies. They may help ChurchGather understand page visits, navigation, scroll depth, section views, button interactions, form progress, and general engagement so the public website can be improved.

  • Analytics are disabled unless you consent
  • Do not intentionally send form contents, passwords, private messages, or full payment details to website analytics
  • You can change your cookie preferences from the website footer
  • Analytics providers may process limited technical information according to their own terms and privacy practices
08

Your choices and controls

You may update or delete certain information directly within ChurchGather where those controls are available. Permanent deletion of an entire ChurchGather account must be requested by email at support@churchgather.app.

  • Update profile and communication settings in the app where available
  • Delete specific user data in the app where a delete control is provided
  • Request full account deletion by email at support@churchgather.app
  • Some records may remain when needed for security, payment, legal, or church accountability
09

Children and age

ChurchGather account creation is designed for people age 13 or older. Churches and families should use care when sharing information about children and follow local law and church safeguarding rules.

  • Do not publish a child’s sensitive details without proper permission
  • Limit children’s information to what is truly needed
  • Use approved adult leadership and audience controls
